Once your team gets registered, your GP practice will contact each of the three participants to do a basic health assessment at the beginning and at the end of the Challenge.
¿HOW?
1- Virtually walk. Walk around Enfield or anywhere you like. Average of 1 mile per person/day. 3 miles / day / each team. (Average 21 miles per team/week)
2- Talking for a while during each walk.
3- Outdoors.
4- Adding one “BONUS Health” per person/per week, and each captain can also add the “TEAMWORK BONUS” only twice per team, during the challenge.

DESCRIPTION
Where: From London to The Land’s End in Cornwall.
Distance: 355 miles (including bonus) in maximum 12 weeks.
When: 5th of October 2024 to arrive at the destination by the 31st of December.
Objective: For 80% of the teams to reach Enfield on time.
TEAMS
1- Teams of Three people.
2- At least one member of the team must have:
A-Some cardiovascular risk factor (diabetes, hypertension, overweight, smoking).
B-Or have a chronic physical or mental illness (i.e: osteoarthritis, Parkinson’s, kidney failure, chronic bronchitis, depression, anxiety, schizophrenia)
C-Or be over 60 years of age.
D-Be the primary caregiver for a dependent person.
3- Ideally, one team member should not be highly motivated, and would require motivation.
4- At least one member of the team must be highly motivated (the team captain)

This time we will focus our bonusses in collecting items for the FOOD banks in Enfield. But you keep up with your healthy life style changes, too!
Most needed items are:
FOOD: Canned meat or tuna fish, Tinned fruit, Tinned vegetables, Tins of soup, Tinned vegetarian meals, Long life milk, Tea, Coffee.
BABY ITEMS: Nappies, Baby wipes, Baby food.
TOILETRIES: Shower gel, Shampoo, Deodorant, Toilet rolls, Washing powder, Carrier bags.
BONUS HEALTH
Every week you can add 7 miles by choosing one of the following Bonuses (A,B or C):
A-Caring about yourself with “Caring” bonus:
Establish a new healthy habit like eating more salads and greens, eating one apple a day, reading a book or an article about healthy lifestyle 20 minutes a day…
or give up an unhealthy habit such as no sweets this week, no crisps, no alcohol, no smoking or no mobile phone during the first hour after waking up or during the last hour at night…
and stick to it over the course of one week.
B-Caring about your Friends with “Good Vibes” bonus:
This time we will focus on starting some kind of collaboration with the food banks in Enfield, you can bring your items to The Woodberry practice and we will contact the Food Banks.
You can also do something nice to a friend such as baking a cake for your neighbour, calling a member of your family or a friend you didn’t talk for a while, or providing a lift for somebody.
You could also write and upload a nice sentence or an encouraging message for all participants. Attach a photograph and share the experience with everyone in the challenge.
C-Caring about the environment using the “Enfield” bonus:
Add a picture of something nice in Enfield; a tree, a pond, a park, a beautiful building or the street market. Add a comment about where it is. Discover Enfield Borough.

TEAMWORK BONUS
This bonus can only be uploaded by your CAPTAIN ONLY.
This bonus can be used only TWICE during the challenge.
Each “Teamwork” Bonus gives your team 50 extra miles.
Organise an activity together (the three of you together); This time we will focus on collecting items and goods to donate to ENFIELD FOOD BANKS. Organise an event with your friends and collect items for the food banks. you can bring them to the Woodberry practice and we will deliver them to the food Banks in Enfield.
but you may chose to do other activities together such as meeting up for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and maybe sharing some homemade food, going for a walk and pick up garbage in the park, or the three of you meeting for a longer walk one day. You can also arrange a date and help in the school, church or any charity…
